Inspiring people to soar to new professional and spiritual heights
As a former Blue Angeles “Boss,” Greg motivates and inspires people based on the metaphor of the extreme excellence of the Blue Angels.
Humble beginnings combined with a rich legacy of accomplishment provide Greg with messages that are filled with humility yet inspirational to people from all walks of life. We often believe that setbacks are the end of the journey. This is not the truth. Life’s challenges are imbued with second chances and can propel us to unlimited heights. Greg’s formula for success is expressed with the passion of one who has witnessed second chances work not only for himself but for teammates and associates.
A career naval officer, Greg had the distinction of being selected to lead the Navy’s precision aerobatic team, the Blue Angels, a record three times. During his highly successful command and flight leadership of this exceptional team, Greg took the Blue Angels to Moscow. This was the first and only time the Blues flew international shows with an unprecedented stop in Russia. The Blue Angels were at the brink of being dismantled when Greg was called to lead them one last time – ensuring the Blues would continue to soar. His leadership quickly brought the team back to preeminence.
Foundational to the success of the Blues was a culture born of extraordinary trust and profound gratitude. Greg’s team exemplified uncommon caring and unparalleled excellence. A final crescendo to his remarkable career was the opportunity to skillfully lead a major Naval jet base to the distinction as the winner of the President’s Installation of Excellence award as the best base world-wide. Using the principles he learned as the only three-time leader of the Blues, he developed a multi-disciplinary team who together created an incredible place to live and work for thousands of service and civilian personnel. Greg enthusiastically brings his prodigious skills and experiences to elevate the performance of those who attend his keynote speeches around the world.
“Found” by the Lord two years ago, Greg brings his message with the clarity and boldness that a “child” of God joyfully shares. He realizes that the legacy he formerly believed was laced with good luck was actually a gift from the grace of his Lord and Savior. A physically fit and heart-healthy former Navy fighter pilot, Greg was suddenly hit by an episode of Sudden Cardiac Death. The event was completely unexpected and Greg’s life was saved by the quick actions, of a heroic loved one, who gave him an astonishing eight minutes of CPR. A non-believer at the time, Greg experienced God’s mercy and the blessing of yet another second chance in a life blessed with many second chances. Greg revels in telling the story of how the complications of this life-threatening event and the questions this raised about eternity and his spiritual journey lead him to an introduction to his Creator.
